Judul : The Influence of the pH Variation of the Synthetic of Nanocomposite Hydroxyapaite-Chitosan on the Form of Grain and the Hardness
Abstrak :

Hydroxyapatite is one of materials whose characteristics is similar to the natural bone. However knowing that the bone is a biocompocite which is formed of organic and inorganic materials hydroxyapatite needs to be composed of the polymer material in order to be able to substitute the bone. Besides the powder of hydroxyapatite which is used to substitute the bone can migrate and loose easily from the bone tissue. Therefore one of polymer materials that can be composed to the making of hydroxyapatite is chitosan being known that it is a biopolymer which owns some characteristics as follows; biocompatible not poisonous and biodegradeble thus is suitable to be the implant of the bone.
This research aimed at synthesizing hydroxyapatite through the use of Ca(OH)2 of the mineral Calcite as the starting material phosphate acid (H3PO4) and ammoniac. Afterwards the pH variation was done with the value of 4 7 and 13 when synthesizing the nanocomposite hydroxyapatite-chitosan in order to form the grain. Aside from that each of the grain could tell the hardness of nanocompositehydroxyapatite-chitosan through a test so-called Vickers Hardness Tester. Co-precipitation method was then used to prepare hydroxyapatite and nanocomposite hydroxyapatite-chitosan. Yet the size of the grain was characterized using XRD and the microstructure form was observed using SEM while the ratio of Ca/P the researcher used EDX.
Using the co-precipitation method hydroxyapatite obtained achieved the ratio value of Ca/P by 1.67 agreed the ratio value of the model and achieved the crystal size by 25.40 nm. Using XRD the information obtained was how the composite was formed and the size of composite by the value span of 35.09 nm. Besides the characteristics of SEM showed that the value of pH influenced the form of grain shown by the form of grain rod-apatite at the pH value of 4 and spherical-apatite at the pH value of 7 and 13 as well. Meanwhile the highest value of Vicker Hardness was obtained from the sample that used the pH value of 4 by the value of 177.87 kg/mm2. Yet the value of Vicker Hardness of the pH value of 7 and 13 were 43.63 kg/mm2 and 56.3 kg/mm2 respectively.
