Abstrak :

Temu giring plant is a sort of a medicinal plant. Some of endophytic mold species lives in various species of plants’s tissues. The endophytic mold can produces the same secondary metabolite as well as that produce by its host plant. This research is done to 1) isolate and identificate endophytic mold in the temu giring rhizome 2) observe histologically to the location of endophytic mold in temu giring rhizome tissue and 3) analyze the secondary metabolite which is produced by endophytic mold in temu giring rhizome quantitatively. The reseach results showed that: 1) there are 5 species endophytic mold which can be isolated from temu giring rhizome namely: F. sporotrichioides A.versicolor A. terreus F. oxysporum and C. sphaerospermum 2) endophytic mold mycelium is located in parenchyma cells on temu giring cortex rhizome 3) each endophytic mold species can produce secondary metabolite. The analyzed result is the alkaloid levels is in the range of 0.31-0.84 g/L flavonoids in the range of 0.70-2.30 g/L terpenoids in the range of 0.02-0.07 g/L and phenols in the range of 1.97-5.75 g/L.
